What I Like: My Passion Hi everyone! This is Nathan! I want to talk about something today. That is the meaning of being passionate. Everyone around me nowadays think that things like Ultraman, Sesame Street, etc. are very outdated and childish. But my question to them is: Who made this rule that all these are for kids? And the thing that suits us nowadays are online games? Look at what these games have caused. People being addicted. People playing too much that they get sent to the hospital. People failing examinations for games. So, basically, I have to admit, I don’t like the trends nowadays. I am the type of person who doesn’t mind liking and using what others think is childish. I am the type of person who is passionate about something and dedicates myself to them. So let me list out what I am passionate about (not in order): - Studio Ghibli - Marvel Studios - Running Man - English Literature - Ultraman - Kamen Rider -Super Sentai - Cardfight Vanguard - Battle Spirits - Universal Studios - Sesame Street - Hi-5 - Nathan Foley - SD Gundam Sangokuden - Disney - Pixar - Paramount Films - Pokémon - Ben 10 - Doraemon - Soundtracks/OSTs from movies. - Travis - John Mayer - Plain White T’s - Beast Quest - J.R.R Tolkien and his books  There might be others that I did not mention but it doesn’t matter so long as you get the big picture. So as all of you reading this may realise, I like things that people say are childish but have anyone of you really thought carefully, what is childish exactly? Is there a rule that says that these stuff are only meant for kids? Babies? No. I am passionate about these things and I am willing to dedicate myself to it. Every single moment I think about these things, I feel extremely warm at heart. This makes me feel really touched. I believe that if you are passionate you will do everything in your ability to be faithful to it. Nothing should stop you. I want to share this meaning to everyone in the world but of course, if people really like another thing, I won’t force them. I am not afraid of showing that I like these “childish” things to the world. Even if people nowadays say that we shouldn’t like them and laugh at me, I don’t mind because I am really willing to be proud of these things that I like. No, I should say I love! Just like the wise thinker, Aristotle once said, “Only by making a fool of yourself can you gain a new ability.” These are not his actual words but the meaning is the same. Loving something makes you go all the way for it. Many people have laughed at me when I tell them that I like these things but I never cared a single bit. If they think this way, that means that they are immature and are the childish ones. Last but not least, I would like to thank Joel Wong, a close friend for feeling the same way as me. I think this is not the last time I talk about this particular topic but this is all I have to say for now. Thank you. And whoever sees this post, please think about what I have mentioned. Thanks! :)
